I was accepted to Taos Toolbox! I am so excited right now! I know my writing will benefit greatly from the experience. Two weeks with Walter Jon Williams, Nancy Kress, and guest lecturer Carrie Vaughn will definitely be a way to stretch as a writer…and I can’t wait! What a way to welcome the new year! If you’d like to apply as a speculative fiction writer, there’s still time. Just go to: http://www.taostoolbox.com/
Not that I’m just sitting around waiting for June 28th with these amazing authors…there’s a lot of other things to tackle. I signed up for the Short Story Challenge. If you want to try this, the deadline is January 15th. The organizers send you parameters for a story, and you must write a 2,500 word story in eight days. What better way to practice being able to write under pressure or deadlines? Genre may be assigned by the organizers, so it’s going to be a fun way to broaden horizons! To work effectively, workspace is important. How’s yours? Mine’s finally improved. The saga of the out of state storage unit has ended. My purple glass desk is now back, and I love it! I hope you all have a great spot to work in the months ahead.
May we all have a fun and productive year writing what we love! Wishing you all happiness for 2015!
That sounds like a fun way to spend a couple weeks!
Fun, intense and life-changing! Can’t wait!
Congratulations! From your more recent posts, I can see your excitement hasn’t diminished. That’s great to see.
Thanks! No, the excitement hasn’t gone down. I’m really excited about my current urban fantasy project and the idea of spending time with other dedicated writers gets me totally stoked! 🙂
I have no doubt it’ll be an amazing and (as you said) life changing experience. I’m interested in hearing more about your current WIP. Do you have a blurb? (no pressure!)
I am writing under a pseudonym for that project. Current website is http://www.nofurylike.com as Amber Rhinesmith.
