Today I feel good about my productivity. That’s not always the case. I have my second short story out for critique. I am tidying up my poem due for my creative writing class on Monday. All in all, not bad for the creative side.
On the academic side, I’ve also gotten a green light to pursue my paper topic so research can be started right away. I need time to marinate in ideas, facts, theories.
All well and good. I’m not resting on my laurels too long, though. I need to edit the last 225 pages or so of the first novel. I need to plot the next two acts of my sequel novel. November will bring National Novel Writing Month and the plotting will help drive that forward.
Plodding along day after day, it feels sometimes like you can’t see the forest for the trees. Then you look up and realize that you’re farther along than you’d ever hoped!
But today, I will enjoy a rare day off. Enjoy your holiday weekend, everyone!
