I have been taking a long, hard look at how I use time lately. I need to prune back. I hate math, but I’ve begun to perform some calculations. Here’s what I’ve determined:
There’s only one of me. That’s it. And I need 7 hours of sleep, minimum, a night.
There’s only 24 hours in a day. Like it or not.
I work at 2 different schools, teaching.
I spend nearly 12 hours a week in my car commuting.
I began to subject everything to a test. Does this activity add to my quality of life? Does it nurture me? Does it take away? Does it cause stress? Is the stress worth it for some other payoff?
And you know what? I’m starting to realize it’s time to de-clutter the schedule. Just as I did at the beginning of this journey with my stuff.
