Every time I turn around, it seems most of my writing is done on the fly and in little pieces of time. My projects seem to reflect this too. I occasionally mourn having no time to get really creative. And one of my close writer friends has let me know I need hashtags for social media. Another short form for communication.
But small things add up. Scenes can be a mere three to five pages, and if you persevere, you get a novel. I’m working on a flashfic, right now, the shortest of the short.
I do want to find a longer time to write, though, so I’m applying to summer writing workshops to give myself that precious time. How about you? Are you writing in little pockets of time, and planning for the long haul?
