Have you ever realized you’ve taken on far too much? How do you get time back? This happened to me, and now I know what the hardest word to say is. This word is small, and yet once it passes our lips, things can change drastically.
By filling out paperwork, I said it, although not out loud. I dropped a class today. Why? It would have cut down greatly on the time I have to write. I needed to prioritize.
I have a full schedule. I’m sure you do, too. Don’t you owe it to yourself to let some things go to produce more projects? Can you find ways to spend more time with your writing?
But maybe you can’t right now. That’s okay too. Writing may have to take a back seat for a while. But maybe you can steal a few minutes, scribbling in a notebook as you sit waiting in a doctor’s office. As long as you’re stringing a few words together wherever you are, that’s still writing. Don’t give up. Never, ever, give up.
So, have you guessed the hardest word yet? If you have, and can say it easily, you’re further along than me. And yet, if I’m going to do the things that are important to me, and live a balanced life, I must say it sometimes. That word, plain and simple, is “no.”
