Social Butterfly

I have established an author page on Facebook.  I even joined Twitter (@DianaDaviswrite) the other day.  I am developing the website for my novel as well.  I worry about becoming too much of a social butterfly online.  It’s easy to lose hours surfing online if you’re not careful.

I follow a lot of writing and publishing sites online.  Learning about the market and the craft are very important.  Sometimes I wonder if I spend more time on this than actually writing.  There is an odd side effect, though.  When I do write, I’m more focused on the reader.  This is not a side effect I would have expected, but I’m grateful for it.  I just have to maintain the balance between social butterfly and diligent writer!
